Work We Do

Real projects on real boats. No stock photos, just the kind of work we handle week in and week out here in North Carolina.

What We Fix Most

If your boat sounds like any of these, you're not alone.

Soft Transom Rebuilds

Water in the bilge that shouldn't be there, or a motor that feels 'loose' when you trim it. We cut out the compromised core, replace with Coosa or marine-grade composite, and glass it back stronger than factory.

Console & Bilge Rewires

Electronics flicker, bilge pump won't run, batteries won't hold charge. We find the wire nuts, corroded splices, and automotive wire, then do it right with tinned marine-grade and proper terminations.

Floor & Stringer Rot

Soft deck underfoot, or stringers that look black and delaminated from the hatch. We cut out the rot, replace the core, and rebuild it so you don't have to think about it again.

Gelcoat & Cosmetic Repair

Dock rash, trailering damage, stress cracks around hardware. We grind it back, lay it up properly, and finish it so the repair disappears, not a color match that cracks next season.

2005 Ranger Z521, Wet Sand, Buff & Polish

This 2005 Ranger came to us with heavy oxidation and a completely dulled finish from years of sun and hard fishing. The clear was cloudy, and the metal flake was completely hidden under a thick layer of oxidized gelcoat. The owner wanted to bring back the original shine without the massive expense of a full re-gelcoat.

We started with an aggressive wet sanding process to cut through the deep oxidation and level the surface back to healthy gel. Progressed through multiple sanding grits to refine the scratches, followed by a heavy compound to restore the depth and clarity. Finished with a fine machine polish to bring out the mirror shine, and sealed the entire hull with a UV-protective coating to lock it in.

The original flake pops like it just rolled out of the factory in 2005. A complete transformation that brought thousands of dollars of value back to the boat, making a 20-year-old hull look brand new again.

Paint & Electrical2003 Sportmaster Center Console

2003 Sportmaster Center Console, Gelcoat & Full Rewire

Owner bought this center console knowing it needed serious attention. Gelcoat was chalky and oxidized from years in the North Carolina sun. Wiring was a mess of corroded splices, bare copper, and household-grade connections behind the dash. Electronics dropped out every time he hit a wake. He wanted it brought back right, not patched together.

Ground out stress cracks and gelcoat damage all the way back to solid laminate. Sprayed color-matched gelcoat, wet-sanded and compounded to factory-level finish. Pulled every foot of old wiring and ran new tinned marine-grade wire for every circuit with proper terminations and heat shrink. Built an NMEA 2000 backbone from scratch with proper terminators and power insertion so GPS, sonar, and VHF all talk to each other. Cut and installed custom dash panels for clean gauge and electronics layout. New switch panel, batteries, pumps, and lights.

Boat came back looking right, gelcoat smooth and glossy, not a patch job. All electronics run clean, no dropouts, no interference. Owner said the custom dash layout alone made the boat feel brand new. Runs the coast every weekend now with zero issues.

Paint & Gelcoat1989 Hydrasport DV200

1989 Hydrasport DV200 Dual Console, Complete Re-Gelcoat & Metal Flake

This was a complete re-metal flake job from start to finish. The owner wanted to bring this classic 1989 Hydrasport dual console back to its former glory with a brand new, flawless metal flake finish.

The process was incredibly lengthy and demanding. It started with massive amounts of prep work—stripping the old finish, repairing the substrate, and perfectly fairing the hull. Once prepped, we moved into the tedious process of spraying the new metal flake gelcoat. After spraying, the real work began: an extensive finish process involving multiple stages of wet sanding, heavy compounding, and fine polishing to level the flake and create a deep, glass-like shine.

A stunning, flawless metal flake finish that catches the sun perfectly. This classic Hydrasport looks like it just rolled out of the showroom, ready to turn heads on the water.

Rigging, Electrical & Paint1989 Ranger 393V Bass Boat

1989 Ranger 393V, Rigging, Rewire & Gelcoat Restoration

Owner had this 1989 Ranger sitting in his driveway for two years. Gelcoat was chalky and oxidized, spiderwebbed around the console and every cleat. Wiring was original 1989, brittle, corroded, and patched together with electrical tape and wire nuts. Motor was rigged wrong, mounted too low and porpoising every time he tried to run it. He wanted it back on the water fishing tournaments, not taking up space in his yard.

Ground out gelcoat damage back to solid laminate, sprayed color-matched gelcoat, wet-sanded and compounded to bring the finish back. Pulled every foot of old wiring and ran new tinned marine-grade wire for every circuit with proper terminations and adhesive-lined heat shrink. Built a new switch panel with circuit breakers. Re-rigged the motor at the correct height and setback for this hull with a new jack plate, proper backing plate, and bedding. Ran new hydraulic steering lines, bled the system, and re-rigged throttle, shift, and trim controls with new cables. Plumbed new fuel lines with anti-siphon valves and a water-separating filter. Got the motor running clean and tested everything on the water.

Boat came back looking right and running right. Gelcoat is smooth and glossy, not a patch job. Motor trims solid, no more porpoising, and controls feel crisp. All electronics run clean on the new wiring. Owner's been fishing tournaments in it ever since, says it handles better than it did back in '89.

Structural & Rigging1989 Stratos 18.5 ft Bass Boat

1989 Stratos 18.5, Transom & Motor Rigging

Owner picked this up as a project boat knowing it needed work. The transom was completely rotted, soft enough you could push a screwdriver clean through it. Motor was sitting loose and the mounting bolts were wallowing out in wet core. Wiring was original 1989, brittle, corroded, and patched together with electrical tape. He wanted it back on the water fishing, not sitting in his driveway.

Cut out the entire transom core all the way back to solid, dry laminate. Rebuilt it with marine-grade composite, bonded and glassed in with a proper resin schedule. Rigged the motor with a new jack plate, set to the correct height and setback for this hull. Replaced all steering, throttle, and shift cables. Re-ran the fuel system with new marine-grade hose, anti-siphon valves, and a water-separating filter. Pulled all the old wiring and ran new tinned marine-grade with proper terminations, circuit protection, and a new switch panel. Got the motor running clean and tested everything on the water.

Boat came back solid, dry, and running right. Owner said it planes faster and handles better than it ever did, even back in '89. Been fishing tournaments in it ever since.

1998 Champion 202, Front Deck & Transom Rebuild

Owner brought in a 1998 Champion 202 that had been sitting for a couple years. The front deck was completely rotted through, soft enough you could push a screwdriver through it. The transom was gone, water had been working its way in around the motor mount for years, and the wiring was a mix of corroded splices, bare copper, and electrical tape. He was ready to part it out until a friend told him to bring it here.

Cut out the entire rotten front deck, ground back to solid laminate, and rebuilt it with marine-grade composite core glassed in with a proper resin schedule. Cut out the transom core all the way back to dry material, replaced it with composite, bonded and glassed it stronger than factory spec. Pulled every foot of old wire out and ran new tinned marine-grade wire with proper terminations, heat shrink, and circuit protection. New switch panel, new battery setup, new pumps, new lights. Re-bedded all hardware with marine sealant so water can't get back in.

We built this boat back better than it ever was. The deck is solid, the transom is dry and strong, and every electrical circuit runs clean the first time. That's what we do. We take boats that have been neglected, patched over, or half-fixed, and we bring them back right. Better than factory, ready for the water, and built to stay that way.
